Center for Political Courage (CPC) organized the “Seminar on Soft Skills” on November 24th and 25th for students of various faculties of the University of Prishtina, selected through the open call for application under the project Advocacy for Advancement of academic integrity and quality in higher education”. This seminar was lectured by Ms. Shenaj Shala, protocol specialist, courtesy consultant, independent mentor and lecturer.
Key topics of this seminar were soft skills including among others: the importance of first impressions and personal image; effective communication and presentation skills; boosting self-confidence; non-verbal communication (body language, facial expressions, etc.); effective use of sound (rhythm, tone, dialect, power of silence); managing stress before and during public speaking (job interviews, academic presentations, important meetings, etc.); as well as managing criticism and feedback. In addition to highly dynamic lectures and discussions, participants also engaged in group workshops, practicing some of the good practices of the topics addressed during the workshop.
This seminar was organized as part of the project “Advocacy for the Promotion of Academic Integrity and Quality in Higher Education”. The project aims to improve the key policies that regulate the issues mentioned above as well as the development of critical thinking, academic writing and soft skills among the first and second year students of the University of Prishtina.
