Project duration: July 2014 – March 2016 | Donator: Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)
This project conducted a systematic examination of the intensity, organization and causes of clientelism in post-1999 Kosovo and post-1997 Albania. Firstly, the development of a quantitative ‘map’ of comparative clientelism across various areas of economic governance in the two countries is envisioned. Secondly, an econometric model was drafted to investigate what variables may cause the differential incidence of patron-client exchange in different areas of economic governance. This model successfully used to assess the impact of institutional reforms in fighting clientelism.
